Check what language their tool is set to first. Three Macedonian letters, ѓ, ќ and ѕ, appear in no other Cyrillic alphabet at all, so a dictionary or QC profile aimed at Bulgarian or Serbian has nothing to match them against and reports every one as wrong. We tag the file as Macedonian and flag this in the handover, because a page of false positives is hard to tell from a page of real ones.

Ѕ is Cyrillic dze, and the likeness to the Latin S is coincidental — it most likely descends from the Greek stigma rather than from the Roman alphabet. The practical consequence is that a caption can contain the wrong one and survive every visual check, which is why we validate the characters rather than reading them.

Search stops finding the word, a glossary replacement passes over it, and any player that picks fonts by script can set half the word in one typeface and half in another, which viewers do notice as an uneven line. Not as it stands. The letter inventories differ before you even reach the wording: neither alphabet contains ѓ, ќ or ѕ, so there is nothing in those files to convert them from. Working from an existing regional file to save transcription and spotting time is fine and often sensible, but the Macedonian text itself is written by a native Macedonian subtitler.
