How much does a voice over cost?
Voice over pricing explained — what drives the cost of a voice over, how professional quotes are put together, and how to get the best value for your project.
There's no single price for a voice over — here's why
Voice over pricing isn't one flat number. The cost of a voice over depends on how long your script is, how the audio will be used, how many languages you need, the profile of the talent and how much production is involved. A 30-second internal message and a national TV campaign in five languages are worlds apart.
Rather than a rigid price list, we give you a clear, itemised quote based on your actual project — and back it with our Price Match Promise. Below is what goes into the price, so you know exactly what you're paying for.
Voice over rates (guide prices)
Our English-language voice over is priced from a Basic Studio Fee (BSF) — an all-inclusive rate covering studio rental, a professional sound engineer and basic file cleanup. Foreign-language rates vary by language and availability.
Basic Studio Fee
| Session | GBP | EUR | USD |
|---|---|---|---|
| Per hour | £400 | €500 | $550 |
| Half day | £1,200 | €1,500 | $1,650 |
| Full day | £2,400 | €3,000 | $3,300 |
Usage fees (added for broadcast & published work)
| Usage | GBP | EUR | USD |
|---|---|---|---|
| Audiobook (per book) | £100–£600 | €100–€700 | $100–$780 |
| TV ad / video | £700–£2,100 | €700–€2,450 | $700–$2,730 |
| Online ad / video | £400–£1,200 | €400–€1,400 | $400–$1,560 |
These are guide prices to help you budget — every project is quoted individually based on length, usage, languages and production. Send us your script for an exact, no-obligation quote, backed by our Price Match Promise.
Non-broadcast vs broadcast rates
The biggest factor in what a voice over costs is how the audio will be used.
Non-broadcast
For content used internally or privately — corporate videos, training, e-learning, IVR and phone messages — you pay only the Basic Studio Fee, with no usage fees, as long as the audio isn't published to the general public.
Broadcast
For content aired on TV, radio or online platforms, you pay the Basic Studio Fee plus a usage fee. The fee depends on the media type, the length of use and the size of the audience.
What affects the price of a voice over
Script length
More words means more studio time, so word count and running time are a big part of any quote.
Usage & licensing
Internal or web use costs less than broadcast, cinema or paid advertising, which carry usage fees.
Number of languages
Each language needs its own translation, casting and recording — though we make multilingual efficient.
Talent profile
Standard professional voices differ in price from high-profile or specialist talent.
Turnaround
Standard scheduling is most cost-effective; very fast turnarounds can carry a premium.
Production
Editing, syncing to picture, music and mixing add production time on top of the raw recording.

Voice over pricing FAQs
- How much does a voice over cost?
- It depends mainly on script length, how the audio is used (internal, web, broadcast or advertising), the number of languages and the talent. Short web or corporate pieces are the most affordable; broadcast and advertising carry usage fees. Send us your details for an exact quote.
- Do you charge per word, per hour or per project?
- We quote per project, taking into account word count and running time along with usage, languages and production. That way the price reflects the whole job, not just the recording.
- What is 'usage' or 'licensing'?
- Usage covers where and for how long the audio runs. Internal and web use is straightforward; TV, radio, cinema and paid ads include a usage licence for the talent, which affects the price.
- Do you offer discounts for volume or multiple languages?
- Yes — larger and multilingual projects benefit from efficiencies, and we also run a referral programme and a Price Match Promise. Ask us and we'll find you the best value.
- Is AI voice over cheaper than a human recording?
- Often, yes — AI voice over can reduce cost and turnaround, especially for long-form or high-volume content. See our AI voice over service, and we'll advise on the best mix for your budget.
- How do I get an exact price?
- Send us your script and project details and we'll come back with a clear, itemised quote quickly. You can also use our script time calculator to estimate studio time first.
