A London subtitling company for every screen
GoLocalise is a London subtitling company and subtitling agency, producing broadcast-standard subtitles and captions from our own Central-London studios since 2008. We handle everything from timing and spotting to translation and on-screen text, delivered ready for any platform.
We produce closed captions, SDH (subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing), open and burnt-in subtitles, and subtitle translation into 100+ languages — in SRT, VTT, STL, TTML and more.
Native linguists and experienced subtitlers keep your captions accurate, readable and correctly timed, whether it's a single corporate video or a full streaming catalogue.

A reading speed per language
Japanese runs at 4 characters a second, Spanish at 17, Arabic at 20. Arabic takes the same 42-character line as Spanish; Japanese takes 13. The limit follows the language, not the script, and every file is checked against its own.

Frequently asked questions
What should I look for in a London subtitling agency?
The same things you would look for anywhere, plus one local advantage. Ask for the characters-per-second reading speed they work to, whether they build files to your destination platform's published specification, who translates each language and whether they are a native speaker, and what the per-minute price includes. The London part is worth having when you need to attend a session, sign off on a file in person, or work to UK broadcast specs such as EBU-STL — our studios are in Stockwell, SW9, and our project managers are UK-based.
What subtitle formats do you deliver?
SRT, VTT, STL, TTML and burnt-in (open) subtitles — whatever your platform or broadcaster requires.
Do you offer closed captions and SDH?
Yes. We produce closed captions and SDH (subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing), including sound and speaker cues for full accessibility.
Can you subtitle in multiple languages?
Yes. We translate and time subtitles in 100+ languages with native linguists, keeping meaning and reading speed right for each market.
How much does subtitling cost?
Our published starting rates are £15 a minute of video for English subtitles and £18–£20 a minute for other languages, covering timing, spotting and a quality check. What moves the figure is how many languages you need, the turnaround, whether translation is involved and whether you want SDH. Send us the video for an exact, itemised quote, backed by our Price Match Promise.
How fast can you deliver subtitles?
Most short videos are turned around within a day or two; larger volumes are scheduled with your project manager.
Do you also do voice over and dubbing?
Yes. As a full localisation agency we handle subtitling, voice over, dubbing and translation together, keeping everything consistent.
