Clean read suits corporate video, interviews for publication and anything heading for translation: filler words and false starts come out, meaning stays. Verbatim is what legal proceedings, compliance material and research interviews need, because every utterance and pause is on the record. Either way vowel spelling is checked against the word, not guessed from the sound. Your project manager confirms the format against your end use.

Because the script still treats them as different letters even though speech does not. Odia phonology sources describe vowel length as not contrastive in modern speech, but a name, place or technical term is still spelled with a specific one of the two, and getting it wrong is a visible spelling error to any reader who knows the word.

Not reliably. A speech tool hears one sound where Odia's script still has two letters, short and long, and nothing in the audio tells it which spelling a given word actually uses. A native Odia transcriber recognises the word itself and applies its established spelling, and a second linguist checks it before delivery.

Mainly spelling. It does not usually change what a sentence means, but it changes whether a name, a place or a specialist term is written the way it is actually spelled. In a document going to print, a client or an official body, that difference between correct and merely legible spelling is exactly what you are paying a native transcriber to get right.

There is no flat rate, because no two files take the same work. Runtime, recording quality, how many people are talking, your deadline and whether you also need an English version all move the figure. Upload is encrypted, the file goes to one named Odia transcriber who has signed an NDA, and nothing is put through public speech-to-text services at any point. If you have your own confidentiality agreement we sign it, if you have retention rules we work to them, and if your policy says the audio goes once the transcript is approved, we delete it.

It is normal work. Phone audio, site noise, focus groups and meetings where three people speak at once all get transcribed. What difficult audio changes is time, and occasionally certainty about a name or a spelling.
