Voice over · Levantine Arabic
Levantine Arabic voice over
Levantine Arabic covers Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Palestine, and is widely loved across the Arab world for its soft, warm and approachable sound — a favourite in advertising and drama. It feels friendly and contemporary. A strong choice for commercials, entertainment and lifestyle content aimed at the Levant and pan-Arab audiences.
The Levantine dialect dominates Arab drama and series, so audiences associate it with storytelling and warmth. We cast Levantine voices — Lebanese, Syrian, Jordanian and Palestinian — for advertising, entertainment and brand content that wants an approachable, contemporary feel rather than the formality of Modern Standard Arabic.
Years of hit television have given Levantine a warm, storytelling quality that audiences across the Arab world respond to, which is why brands reach for it when they want to feel friendly and contemporary rather than official. We cast across the Lebanese, Syrian, Jordanian and Palestinian variants depending on the target, and direct for that approachable tone. For content that also needs formal reach, an MSA version pairs naturally alongside it.

About Arabic voice over
How to brief an Arabic voice over agency
Arabic is one of the most valuable languages to produce content in and one of the easiest to get wrong. Over 310 million people speak Arabic as their native language, but there's a split between Modern Standard Arabic and regional dialects.
A voice cast in Standard Arabic often reads as neutral and formal, while a regional dialect reads as local and familiar, and picking the wrong one for the audience undercuts the content.
At GoLocalise we work with professional Arabic voice actors from around the world, covering Egyptian, Gulf, Levantine, Maghrebi, Iraqi and Sudanese dialects as well as Modern Standard Arabic (MSA). We manage every step, from script review and casting through to editing and final delivery, so the read matches the market you need.
If you do go with a dialect, Egyptian is the most widely understood across the region thanks to the reach of Egyptian film and television, which makes it a common middle ground when a single dialect has to travel.
A few production notes: Arabic is right-to-left, which affects subtitles and on-screen text as well as the voice, and we handle the RTL layout end to end. The highest-value markets are the Gulf (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar) and the wider MENA region — MSA for authority and reach, dialect for warmth, and we advise per project.
Arabic does not use one set of digits. The Gulf and the Levant write numbers with the Eastern Arabic-Indic forms; Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia use the Western digits an English reader recognises. A script that carries the wrong set for its market looks foreign on the page, and a script that mixes the two is worse. It matters most in exactly the content a listener has to act on — prices, dates, phone numbers, dosages. Tell us the region and we will set the numerals correctly rather than inheriting whatever the source file had.
Right-to-left text with Latin words inside it is where Arabic projects break. Brand names, product codes, URLs and figures have to be positioned explicitly, and players and editing systems that assume a left-to-right world reverse them in ways that read as nonsense rather than as a small slip. It is a subtitle and on-screen-text problem rather than an audio one, and it survives to delivery because nobody on the reviewing side reads Arabic. We check it on your target platform.
Arabic expands against English, and the formal register expands further still, so timed content needs the copy adapted rather than the delivery pushed. In advertising that matters most at the end of the line, where the call to action lives.
Send us the script and tell us the region, and we will set the numerals and check the bidirectional handling before you commit — both at no cost. Then an itemised quote and a free casting of Arabic voices auditioned on your own material, cast for the dialect your audience actually speaks rather than a generic MSA read. [Request an Arabic voice over quote](/get-a-quote?help=Arabic%20voice%20over), or tell us the markets and we will advise on how many versions you genuinely need.

Documentary · Lip-synced ArabicArabic voiceover for an International Day of Yoga documentary
A client came to us needing an Arabic voiceover for a thirty-minute yoga training documentary aimed at Arabic-speaking audiences.
The brief was more demanding than a standard localisation: the film blended accented English and Indian voices, required precise pronunciation of Indian yogi names, and needed the Arabic dialogue lip-synced against the original footage.
We selected Arabic voiceover talent for their linguistic dexterity and worked closely with them to preserve the original pronunciation of each name while keeping the dialogue accessible to the target audience. The recording was then synced against the pacing and lip movements of the original English dialogue.

“A deep understanding of the script, bolstered by our extensive experience in providing Arabic voiceover services, ensured a polished final product that met both our standards and the client's expectations.”

Most common questions
Which numerals should our Arabic script use?
It depends on the market. The Gulf and the Levant use the Eastern Arabic-Indic digits; Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia use the Western ones. A script carrying the wrong set looks foreign, and one that mixes them is worse — and it matters most in prices, dates and phone numbers a listener has to act on. Tell us the region and we will set them correctly.
Will our brand name display correctly in Arabic subtitles?
Not automatically. Arabic runs right to left while Latin brand names, product codes and figures run left to right, so they have to be positioned explicitly. Systems that assume a left-to-right world reverse them into nonsense, and it survives to delivery because nobody reviewing reads Arabic. We check it on your target platform.
Do you have an Arabic voice over agency?
Yes — GoLocalise is a full-service Arabic voice over agency. Send us your script and we'll shortlist native Arabic voice actors, then handle casting, recording, editing and delivery in-house. Our Arabic voice over services cover commercials, corporate, e-learning, IVR and more — with a free, itemised quote backed by our Price Match Promise.
Which type of Arabic do I need?
It depends on your audience. Modern Standard Arabic is understood across the entire Arabic-speaking world and suits pan-regional or formal content, while a regional dialect (like Egyptian, Gulf, Levantine or Maghrebi) connects more directly with a specific country or area. We advise on the right fit before anything is recorded.
What is the difference between Modern Standard Arabic and regional dialects?
Modern Standard Arabic is the shared written and formal spoken register used in media, education and official communication across the Arab world. Regional dialects carry the everyday accent, slang and cultural nuance of a specific country, and can differ from each other enough that speakers from distant regions sometimes struggle to follow one another. For customer-facing content, we generally recommend casting talent from the region you are targeting.
How quickly can an Arabic voice over project be delivered?
Most short projects are delivered within 24 to 48 hours. Turnaround depends on script length and talent availability, and your project manager will confirm the timeline at the start of the project.
How much does an Arabic voice over cost?
Arabic pricing starts with a question no rate card can answer: Modern Standard, or a dialect? MSA is understood everywhere and spoken natively nowhere, which makes it right for news, government and corporate material and wrong for anything that needs warmth. Egyptian carries furthest for entertainment; Gulf, Levantine and Maghrebi each belong to their own market. That decision changes the number more than the word count does. After it, the quote is a session fee plus a usage licence, itemised, with our Price Match Promise.
How do I hire an Arabic voice actor?
Send the script and tell us which countries you are buying media in. We will say whether Modern Standard serves you or whether the campaign needs a dialect, shortlist accordingly, and run the session from London or through the network with one project manager on it.
What projects can I use an Arabic voice over for?
Gulf corporate and financial communications, government and public-information campaigns, eLearning for regional workforces, hospitality and aviation content, broadcast advertising, documentary narration, and IVR. Also a steady flow of humanitarian material, where the register matters more than the polish.
Do you offer Arabic dubbing, subtitling and translation as well?
Yes — and in Arabic the on-screen text is its own project. The script runs right to left, so subtitle positioning, lower thirds and any graphic containing words have to be laid out that way from the start rather than mirrored at the end. We build it that way and flag artwork that will not survive the flip.
Why choose GoLocalise for Arabic voice over services?
Arabic is a diglossic language: the written standard and the language people actually speak at home are not the same thing, and no other language we handle asks a client to make that choice so early. Since 2008 we have cast it across the Gulf, the Levant, Egypt and the Maghreb, with a native director in every session to keep the register consistent from the first line to the last.
Can I hear Arabic voice samples before booking?
Yes. Browse our Arabic voice actors and listen to their demos, or send your script and we will shortlist voices and provide sample reads, so you can choose the perfect Arabic voice over before you commit.
What file formats do you deliver Arabic voice overs in?
We deliver Arabic voice over in whatever format you need — WAV, MP3, AIFF and more — at broadcast specifications, as separate files or a single mix, ready to drop straight into your project.
Which sectors commission Arabic voice over most?
Arabic is in constant demand across the Gulf's high-value categories — government, banking, telecom, aviation and luxury — as well as pan-Arab broadcast and entertainment led by Egypt, and public-health and NGO campaigns across the region. We match the dialect and register to the sector, from formal Modern Standard to a warmer Gulf, Egyptian or Levantine read.
Can you deliver Arabic for both formal and consumer audiences?
Yes. Modern Standard Arabic suits official, corporate and pan-regional content that needs to be understood everywhere, while a dialect brings the warmth and familiarity that advertising and entertainment rely on. For broad campaigns we often pair an MSA version with a dialect read, and we'll advise on the right mix for your audience.
