Slovak voice over services

Slovak has ordinary words with no vowels at all, built on syllabic l and r — štvrť, zmrzlina, prst — and a reader working from the page either stalls on them or inserts a vowel that is not there. Add the length marks over both consonants and vowels and it becomes a language that punishes anyone reading rather than speaking it.

We agree it before recording. Slovak has six cases, so names change form depending on their role in the sentence — held fixed, a brand looks like a foreign object in the line; declined, it reads naturally but alters the name as written. Either can be right; leaving it undecided until the session is what is not.

We don't recommend it. Czech and Slovak are close and largely mutually intelligible, but they are distinct languages with distinct standards, and younger Slovak audiences have less everyday exposure to Czech than previous generations did. A Czech read will be understood in Slovakia and will also be noticed. For anything customer-facing we cast natively for each market.
