Flemish voice over services

Flemish is Dutch as it is spoken in Flanders, the northern region of Belgium, by roughly 6.5 million people. It is not a separate language — the written standard is shared with the Netherlands — but the spoken differences in accent, intonation and everyday vocabulary are immediately obvious to a Belgian audience.

That is exactly why the distinction matters commercially. A voice over recorded in the Netherlands will be understood perfectly well in Flanders, but it will sound foreign, and Flemish audiences tend to read that as a brand that did not bother. For anything customer-facing we cast native Flemish talent rather than substituting a Dutch voice.

Belgium has three official languages — Dutch, French and German — so campaigns aimed at the country as a whole usually need a Flemish version and a Belgian French version rather than a single national recording. We handle both, and keep the terminology consistent across the two.
