Forced narratives
Also called: Forced subtitles.
Forced narratives are subtitles that appear even when the viewer has subtitles switched off — an on-screen sign, a written note, or a line spoken in a language different from the rest of the title.
They are delivered as their own track. Platforms check for them, and a title that needs one and ships without it fails quality control.
