Desktop publishing (DTP)
Desktop publishing (DTP) is the use of page-layout software to design finished documents such as brochures, manuals and signage. In localisation, DTP is the step where a translated text is fitted back into the original design — allowing for text that expands or contracts, and for different scripts — so the foreign-language version looks as good as the source.
