M&E track
Also called: Music and effects track, M and E.
An M&E track is the mix of a title with the dialogue removed, leaving music and sound effects. It is what a dub is laid onto.
If the rights holder cannot supply one, the soundtrack has to be rebuilt before dubbing can start, which is a separate job with its own cost and schedule. Ask for it early.
