Closed captions (CC)
Closed captions are on-screen text of the dialogue and relevant sounds that the viewer can switch on or off. Unlike plain subtitles, captions also flag who is speaking and note important sound effects, which makes them essential for accessibility and popular for sound-off viewing on social media.
