Games ask for range and stamina — the same actor moving between quiet dialogue and full combat, delivering efforts, deaths and reactions cleanly across long sessions. We cast for the character rather than just the language, and direct for the read each scene needs, because a flat localisation breaks immersion faster than almost anything else in a game.

The French-specific call is which French. European (Metropolitan) French covers France and much of the francophone world, but Québécois players clock a European read immediately, and a title shipping in Canada may want a Canadian French cast — or both, if you're localising for France and Québec separately. Tell us the target and we cast to it, rather than defaulting to a France read that sounds off to Canadian players.

Then it's the practical craft that makes game audio implementable: consistent character voices across a production that runs for months, efforts and non-verbal pickups recorded and delivered separately, and files named and formatted to your Wwise, FMOD or in-house convention so implementation is drop-in. When the build changes, we pick up new lines with the same actor and session settings, so nothing jars.
