French IVR voice over

Phone audio is heard on a compressed line by a caller who's often already impatient, so clarity beats everything — but a brand's phone experience is still part of its image, so it has to sound composed and human rather than robotic. The French-specific call is which French: Metropolitan for France, Belgium and much of francophone Africa, or Canadian French for Québec callers, who notice a Metropolitan read at once. We keep the same voice on record so future prompts always match.

The tricky craft in French is concatenation with liaison. Menus stitch segments together — numbers, dates, "appuyez sur le 1" — and French runs words together with liaison and elision, so a segment recorded in isolation can join awkwardly. We script and record the segments so the joins sound natural rather than clipped.

On delivery, French phone systems bring their own quirks — European versus North-American line standards, and platforms from Genesys or a cloud contact centre down to a simple on-premise PBX. We hand over audio at exactly the sample rate and file type your system expects, and archive the session so a prompt you add a year from now still matches the voice and level of the originals.
